DNA stool tests!

Recently I was told to buy a DNA testing kit to check my stools to screen for colon cancer. Is this worth it?

No complete rubbish and a rip off. The latest technique to detect cancer cells is to look for DNA testing in the stools. The test may detect cancerous cells in stools but the test is not very sensitive and not yet approved for use by the FDA. The abnormal DNA may not be due to cancer. In addition, even if something is suspected, you still have to undergo other tests to determine if you have a polyp. This test is useless and a complete waste of money. The only people who benefit are the doctors and the manufacturers. If you are 50, you should get a colonoscopy. If one is normal, just say good-bye to your doctor.
