I have been on
duloxetine for a few months for my neuropathy and see no benefit. Does this
medication work?
Consumers should understand that the data on duloxetine and its effects on diabetic neuropathy are still being debated. In some of the trials, physicians were paid by the manufacturer to perform studies on the drug- so the results were always positive.
Consequently, some experts feel that the tricyclic antidepressant drug, amitriptyline, is still the best drug for diabetic neuropathy. It is cheap, works well, but also has its share of side effects.
If the drug has not
worked in a few weeks, I doubt it will work. Best advice, try something else
and only get one month’s prescription and then see for yourself.
