Aloe Vera for IBS

Is Aloe Vera helpful for patients with IBS?

Aloe Vera supplements are widely sold for the treatment of many disorders. You can buy Aloe Vera beverages, creams, lotions, potions, pills, extracts and pastes. While the extracts do help some skin disorders, there is little clinical data on their effectiveness in people with IBS. There are many flavored Aloe Vera beverages available for patients with IBS. They do reduce constipation. Try out Aloe Vera beverage and see if it helps. I am not sure what to say because there are only anecdotal reports about its benefits. There are no clinical studies to back up the claims made by manufacturers.

I have tried the beverages and they taste okay. We live in a world where everyone is trying to rip each other with crap advice or bogus supplements.

My only advice is buy the Aloe Vera beverage from a reliable source. I did work as a PT surgeon in the Caribbean and can tell you that quality control was not a prized feature of the people who made Aloe Vera supplements.
