Recently my psychotherapist recommended morita therapy for
my anxiety. Does this work?
Morita therapy is a type of psychotherapy based on eastern philosophy.
The therapy is designed to reduce the neurotic symptoms by encouraging the
patient to accept anxiety as a natural state. The therapy focuses on
constructive behaviors to overcome the negative thoughts and sensations.
Unfortunately, there is very little in the English
literature about morita therapy. At the moment, I cannot say one way or the
other about this therapy,
However be forewarned, these therapists will charge you a
lot of money and the sessions will never end. If you have the money, go adopt a
dog from a shelter. If you do not have the money, exercise regularly, eat right
and watch your weight-this is free. It will help boost your self-esteem and
ego.
