Antihistamines and weight gain

Can antihistamines cause weight gain?

The older generation of antihistamines have been reported to cause weight gain. The weight gain is gradual but does occur over time. Best advice if you take an antihistamine is to walk more and eat less. If you want to avoid the weight loss, stop the antihistamine. I am not even sure why you would want to take an older generation antihistamine for prolonged periods.
